Frequently Asked
Questions
Q. Will everyone know
that I filed for
bankruptcy?
A. A bankruptcy is a matter of public record. However there are
so many filings each year that unless someone is specifically
trying to find information on you, it is not likely that anyone
will even know you filed.
More likely than not, the only
people who will know about a filing are your creditors and the
people you tell. We recommend that you be careful who you tell
that you have filed bankruptcy, as it is just good
gossip for some people. So, if you do not want everyone to know
that you have filed for bankruptcy, you need to keep it to
yourself.
